We’re seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Preschool Teacher who has a passion for early childhood education and a strong commitment to biblical principles. Hours:Schedule varies depending on staffing needs, up to 39 hours per week

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Reports directly to the Preschool Director.
SCOPE & DIMENSIONS:
Serves as a classroom teacher in a licensed Christian preschool setting, providing care and instruction for preschool-aged children. Interacts regularly with children, parents, co-workers, and leadership to support the emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual development of each child. Maintains an organized classroom environment, adheres to health and safety policies, and supports the broader mission of EastLake Church through early childhood education.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create meaningful learning experiences by planning, supervising, and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum that nurtures each child’s emotional, physical, intellectual, and social growth.
- Foster a warm and welcoming classroom by maintaining a safe, clean, and engaging environment that sparks curiosity, exploration, and creativity.
- Build strong connections with children by engaging with them during structured lessons and spontaneous moments, encouraging their development through intentional interaction.
- Stay organized and accountable by maintaining up-to-date records, including lesson plans, child portfolios, and required documentation.
- Partner with parents and guardians through clear, consistent, and respectful communication—always maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Support children’s personal needs by assisting with toileting, diapering, and helping with clothing changes as necessary, always with care and compassion.
- Invest in your growth through ongoing professional development, including staff trainings, early childhood conferences, and relevant coursework.
- Play a key role in school events by contributing to classroom prep and supporting center-wide activities, emergencies, or special needs as they arise.
- Stay prepared by maintaining a substitute file with at least three days of current lesson plans to ensure classroom continuity.
- Be a team player by providing classroom or center coverage when needed to support overall operations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or minimum of 12 ECE units.
- Two years of experience teaching preschool-aged children.
- Strong communication skills and creativity in lesson planning.
- Passion for early childhood education and commitment to a Christ-centered classroom.
- A professing Christian with deep commitment to living out biblical principles and actively participating in a local Bible-believing church.
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequently sits on the floor or child-sized furniture.
- Must be able to lift or carry children and equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Requires mobility for frequent bending, squatting, and twisting.
- Exposed to a busy, loud, and dynamic preschool environment with frequent interruptions.
- Must manage odors, illness, and other sensory demands associated with caring for children.
- Required to stand for prolonged periods and perform basic cleaning and facility upkeep.
- Staff may come into contact with children who are ill and must take precautions to protect health and safety.
