San Diego Rescue Mission

The San Diego Rescue Mission is a faith-based rehabilitation and recovery program for men, women and children experiencing homelessness. Their work starts on the streets, meeting people where they are, building relationships and establishing trust before guiding them to one of their Navigation Centers (30-day shelters) or the Mission Academy in Downtown San Diego (12-month program). The goal is to help people get off the streets immediately and stay off the streets permanently. If you want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors on the streets by supporting and encouraging them in their journey toward stability, San Diego Rescue Mission has a place for you! Volunteering opportunities for individuals, families, church ministries and small groups are easy to find on their web site. You can review all the opportunities and register for them on the spot. More serving opportunities are coming soon in Spring of 2024 with the opening of SDRM’s new 162-bed National City Navigation Center (30-day emergency shelter). Stay tuned!

For Our World

Bilateral Safety Corridor Coalition

The Bilateral Safety Corridor Coalition (BSCC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to safeguarding the dignity and well-being of individuals who have been exploited or trafficked, including men, women, and children. Their mission focuses on prevention, intervention, and education in order to combat the ongoing harm inflicted by traffickers. Despite the challenges posed by these criminals, BSCC remains committed to reversing the tide and requires support from passionate individuals like you.

The organization relies heavily on volunteers to carry out various essential tasks, such as providing therapy, education, counseling, self-defense training, legal assistance, financial management, fundraising, and IT support. By joining BSCC as a volunteer, you can actively contribute to their efforts.

Additionally, donating monetarily to BSCC is a way to directly combat the predators who exploit the vulnerable for profit. Unlike drugs that provide a single use, victims of labor or sexual exploitation can be sold repeatedly, maximizing the traffickers' gains. By generously supporting BSCC, you play a crucial role in their relentless fight against human trafficking. Your inspiration and contribution are greatly appreciated. Donate HERE

Bright Hope Uganda

Bright Hope is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of orphans in the Rakai District of Southern Uganda, particularly those who have been left abandoned due to the devastating AIDS epidemic. The organization operates the Hope Child Care Program, which provides safety, security, and support to AIDS orphans and patients.

One impactful way to contribute is by sponsoring a child through the Bright Hope School sponsorship program. By doing so, you can help provide education from grades 1 to 7, along with essential provisions like food, nutrition, vitamins, and free medical care. The sponsorship program ensures that tangible needs are met for both the students and staff of the orphanage and school. A recurring monthly donation of $30 can make a significant difference in a specific child's life, providing them with hope for a better future. By living generously and committing to care for the poor and orphans, not only are lives being transformed thousands of miles away, but something transformative also occurs within our own hearts.

Youth With a Mission | Mexico House Build

EastLake Church partners with the worldwide organization Youth With A Mission (YWAM) for the Mexico house build projects. YWAM has built thousands of homes in the Baja region. YWAM screens, interviews, and selects the families who are gifted with a home, and the stories of life change that come from the recipients are incredible. Target groups are the poorest of the poor – those who don’t have shelter improvement as their first priority because obtaining food and basic needs consumes all their resources. It is recognized that given the right assistance these groups will be able to change their circumstances and future productivity.

The children affected by the gift of a home have experienced benefits in their health and well being due to improved living conditions in their family as the stability of a home enables emotional and economic benefits, as well as educationally as they attend school and open more doors for their future productivity as citizens in their communities.
