Sunday: 6:30am-2:00pm
Monday: None
Tuesday: 10:00am-2:00pm (Staff Meeting)
Wednesday: None
Thursday: 1:30pm-8:00pm (Rehearsal)
Saturday: None

Level: Hourly (Non-Exempt)

Status: Part Time (20 hours per week)

General Functions:

The Program and Tech Director will oversee all aspects of the church’s technology and programming needs, ensuring high-quality audio, video, and lighting for services and events. This position will also manage content for both in-person and online worship, recruit and train volunteers for the technical team, and ensure the smooth operation of live streaming services. The director will provide technical support for all church events, including services, meetings, and special events throughout the week.

Supervision Received:

Reports directly to the Worship Pastor. Employee seeks authorization for broad scope of tasks.

Scope & Dimensions:

Works closely with staff and volunteers to support Modern, Traditional, and Midweek Services. Responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, and providing care for production volunteers across all service areas.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Service Production Management:
    • Oversee the technical production of all church services (modern, traditional, and midweek).
    • Ensure that audio, video, and lighting for worship services function smoothly and meet high-quality standards.
    • Manage presentation software (e.g., ProPresenter) and coordinate media and graphic content for services.
    • Collaborate with worship leaders to ensure technical needs align with the vision for each service type.
  2. Online Streaming & Digital Media:
    • Manage live streaming services for all worship and special events, ensuring high-quality video and sound.
    • Oversee the recording and uploading of services to various online platforms (e.g., YouTube, church website).
    • Coordinate with the church’s communication team for social media and website content related to services.
  3. Volunteer Recruitment and Training:
    • Recruit, train, and develop a team of volunteers for audio, video, and lighting roles.
    • Organize training sessions for volunteers to ensure they are competent with the church’s technology systems.
    • Schedule volunteers for regular services, special events, and rehearsals.
  4. Content Management:
    • Manage the content production for services, including sermon slides, announcements, and multimedia presentations.
    • Ensure consistency in the technical aspects of services across different styles (modern, traditional, and midweek).
    • Work closely with the creative team to plan and develop engaging service content.
  5. Technical Support for Events:
    • Provide technical assistance for all church-related events, including midweek meetings, Bible studies, and community events.
    • Ensure that audio, video, and lighting equipment is properly set up and maintained.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues quickly during live events to minimize disruptions.
  6. Equipment Maintenance and Upgrades:
    • Maintain all audio, video, and lighting equipment, ensuring it is in proper working condition.
    • Coordinate necessary repairs, replacements, or upgrades of technical equipment.
    • Keep up-to-date with new technologies and recommend improvements or investments in equipment when necessary.
  7. Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Work closely with the worship team, pastors, and church staff to ensure alignment of service flow and technical needs.
    • Lead and inspire the technical ministry team to ensure a spirit of excellence and commitment to the church’s mission.
    • Participate in staff meetings and planning sessions, offering technical insight and support for upcoming events.
  8. Other Duties as Assigned:
    • Flexibility is a key value in this role, as new tasks may arise based on the season and needs of the church.
    • Be willing to take on additional responsibilities that support the church’s mission and operational effectiveness.

Experience And Educational Requirements:

  1. Experience in audio, video, and lighting production in a church or similar setting.
  2. Proficiency with live streaming platforms (e.g., OBS, YouTube Live, or Facebook Live).
  3. Familiarity with presentation software (e.g., ProPresenter, PowerPoint).
  4. Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage volunteers.
  5. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and efficiently.
  6. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  7. Familiarity with both modern and traditional worship service formats.
  8. Knowledge of AV systems, lighting consoles, and digital audio workstations (DAWs).

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  1. Mobile – In and out of office to ensure task completion.
  2. Overtime hours as required by ministry needs.
  3. Church staff is required to abide by the Cultural Expectations (tithe, attendance, conduct, etc.).

  • This position is classified by the Church as a PART TIME paid position and is non-exempt from the overtime provisions, as stated in Employee Handbook.
